April 12, 2016

It was raining pretty hard after zone meeting, so we took a picture.
I just realized how short I am.

Hi mom! I hope you got to watch a little of conference from a few
weeks ago! It was really awesome and just talked a lot about how we
are literal children of God. Of course, Elder Uchtdorfs talk was
awesome. Usually my favorite talks are from Elder Bednar or Elder
Holland, but that's just because they are soooo missionary focused and
just so powerful, but this time, I really loved Elder Uchtdorfs talk.
I love the title of it, "He will place you on His shoulders and carry
you home." I think it's awesome to think that He has done that for me,
He will continue to do that for me, and I can testify and help others
to come unto Him, so that He can do that for them.

Speaking of elder holland, he is coming to speak in my mission in
May!!! I have been so lucky! I got to see Elder Bednar in the CCM and
now elder holland! In preparation to listen to him, our mission
president has asked that we "Sanctify our hearts" by being obedient
and I've been thinking about that a lot today. I have always been a
very obedient person since the beginning of my life. Somehow even when
I was little and we were a bit less active, I didn't drink coffee, I
always strived to be modest, never said a crude word. My behavior has
always been very obedient to the gospel, so It was never really hard
for me to be obedient as a missionary, either. As a trainer, I figured
if she learned anything from me, I hoped it would be to always be
obedient. I think it all comes down to what the Lord does for us when
we are obedient, but it's amazing to see what the Lord does for others
as we consecrate ourselves to exact obedience. Exact obedience brings
exact blessings and it's been an even bigger part of my life here in
the mission field. I just have such a testimony of it gained
throughout my life.

This week has been a pretty good one. We have invited a lot of people
to be baptized on a specific date this past week and a lot of them
said no, but it was really cool to see that the ones who said no, only
said that they really needed to think and ponder about that baptism.
It's like that invitation, although we got shut down, got them
thinking about making that promise with Our Heavenly Father. I know
they won't just be thinking about that while we are there.

This week we had zone meeting and this zone is very different from my
other zones, but they like to get things done, so it's all good. I
also got my haircut today and I went somewhere cheap (don't kill me
aunt Victoria). It's not the best haircut ever, but I'll get through.

We went on exchanges this week and I went with Sister Sanders! She
calls herself my Godmother because she is best friends with my
trainer. So now since my trainer has returned home, she has declared
that she is now my mother. It's all good though because we had a blast
and now she is taking care of me. She taught me to ask inspired
questions and to be very bold. I have kind of let the fear of man
sneak back into me this past transfer, but now I'm working on going
hard again and being more bold than ever! It's been a pretty good
week!

Love,
Hermana Lapp

She forgot her shoes for exchanges......
Plus it's the only picture I have from exchanges.

Whoops. Don't worry, my glasses are okay and I'm not breaking any
mission rules....I'm not chewing gum in public ;)
